Strengthen your Pilates Apparatus Studio with In-House Teacher Training

Increase staff loyalty, maintain access to new local instructors and enhance the reputation of your Pilates studio

The opportunity for any Pilates apparatus studio worldwide to train their own teachers has never been more accessible, thanks to the hybrid and flexible Pilates apparatus training CPD from Mbodies Training Academy.   Studios can now enhance the skills of their own instructors on-site, provided the trainees already hold a Pilates Matwork or Pilates apparatus qualification or are qualified and insured physiotherapists.

At Mbodies, we believe that training high-quality Pilates instructors is essential for many studios, especially now.  The Pilates Reformer has gained significant popularity and understanding within the Pilates community.  For years, Pilates Matwork was the primary focus, but recently, the demand for Pilates Reformer has surged.  Studios with Reformer facilities are opening at a faster rate than instructors are being trained.  This is where Mbodies Training ensures that instructors receive effective, safe, and versatile training, enhancing the studio's reputation and fostering staff loyalty through continuous professional development.

High-Quality, Flexible Training

With Mbodies Training Academy, instructors who are already qualified in Matwork can adapt to the various main pieces of apparatus, including Reformer, Tower, Chair, and Barrels.  Recognised as an innovator pre-COVID-19, Mbodies offers modular, affordable, and comprehensive apparatus CPD. Given the lack of any national or international accrediting body for Pilates apparatus, our training is the only requirement for existing qualified and certified Pilates Matwork instructors or physiotherapists.

Despite claims from various membership clubs or training bodies that they are accrediting authorities, they hold no such official status.  Insurance companies in the UK and other countries often require Pilates studio owners to involve an authorised training academy like Mbodies.  Our flexible and modular hybrid training offers various curricula to help studio owners run their own teacher training programmes, either by training a senior staff member as an Mbodies tutor, or by bringing in an accredited Mbodies instructor for workshops and assessments.

Simplified Setup and Training Process

Setting up a studio to enrol students and conduct training is straightforward with Mbodies.  Studios can benefit from discounted rates for the course materials when running face-to-face training sessions with two or more students.  This not only allows the studio to train its own staff but also brings in external instructors, creating a profit from the training sessions with a small group training where previously the training would have been loss making for the studio.

Our professional multi-camera filming of all repertoire, hosted on a leading online training platform with full e-commerce and affiliation streams, enables studios to offer an easy training process.  The modular training approach allows for rapid initial training of essential repertoire, with more time spent on intermediate and advanced repertoire as the instructor progresses, contributing to the studio's success while they learn.

As a bonus to the Apparatus training, the studio can also offer hybrid versions of Mbodies acclaimed Special populations CPD - building the skills, within the workforce, to offer a wider range of services to clients, including targeted support for Women’s wellness conditions like Osteoporosis and Female Pelvic health Dysfunctions, DRA and adaptation of exercise during Perimenopause and post Menopause.  Mbodies is also the leading trainer of Instructors working in post-rehab for Breast Cancer survivors in the UK and countries in Europe including Netherlands and Spain.

Economics of Face-to-Face Training

The economics of face-to-face Pilates apparatus training have changed significantly since 2020.  Outside of London, it is challenging to organise face-to-face courses due to the costs associated with travel, accommodation, and meals and the reluctance of instructors to spend the high costs associated with multiple day face to face training.  As a result, training companies either restrict the number of courses or adapt to meet the instructors' needs.

Many instructors now prefer hybrid training, which combines online learning with face-to-face support. This approach works particularly well when training is split into CPD modules, allowing instructors to start with a limited repertoire of essential exercises and expand to intermediate and advanced levels over time.

For Pilates Reformer and Tower, where the repertoire is extensive, Mbodies splits the training into two modules. The initial module is intensive and compact to get instructors teaching quickly. The follow-up module is more comprehensive, often requiring two days of face-to-face training.  Wunda Chair and Barrels training, with smaller repertoires, can be managed in a single module with a long day of face-to-face support.

Ensuring Quality and Compliance

The main UK insurance companies have pre-agreed to insure qualified Pilates Matwork instructors and physiotherapists who complete Mbodies training requirements. These requirements are met through a combination of face-to-face components in the studio, ensuring students have completed their online learning, and video submissions of instructors teaching the material. This process ensures the safety and application of the instructor's learning.
